See you later Nick and Leticia

The school year is over, and that means that some of my friends are going back to their countries.
Time went by so fast and I can't believe that 10 month are over already.
We hosted a good-bye dinner for Nick and his parents, who arrived from Norway to accompany him home (after stops in Florida, DC and New York).

Real parents, host parents, friends and adoptive host parents posed for this group photo.

And Leticia left to Panama.

You're missed already.
I am happy about every single memory, every picture and every story.
I am happy to call you my friends.

=)

Volleyball + Mexican Restaurant

Nick is leaving on sunday morning. First he goes with his parents to Miami, Washington D.C. and New York, and then finally back to Norway - I miss him already.

But, the good thing is: We have to have as much fun as we can in the last few days we have with him.
So, here we go:

Nick and his Birthday Ice-Creme + Birthday Head.

You gotta Nick.
You'll be missed.

Kunstprojekte

Herzlichen Dank! Ich werde dir heute noch zurück schreiben.
Welch eine künstlerische Woche.

Nicks three day birthday party - Day 2

On the 3rd of March Nick, Nicks Hostparents and I have been at a Eishockey game.
My first icehocky game. It was amazing!
Americans really know how to make the right atmosphere and how to make nois.
I actually don't know what's more interessting: The game itself or all the stuff that is going on around it.
The brake program is funny, amazing and often full of interesting stuff.
The combination of American Sport Spirit and the game it self makes all Sport Events an amazing event.
I become a RoadRunners Fan - thats for sure!
And a US-Sport Fan.
And a US-Fan Fan.
And a USA Fan.

Fun stuff is going on in Topeka.

Nicks three day birthday party - Day 1

Nicks Birthday was on the second of March.
Let me tell you that it was a really funny and memorable birthday!

On the second of March Nancy, Dan, Nick and I have been at a KU Basketball game. A Amazing Event!
Before the game we had a great dinner at an authentic Western Steak House.
It was delicious! Even the service guy understood "a steak with lobster" instead of "a steak with lots of salad". You think steak with lobster is a strange combination? I was surprised how good it was! My new favorite dish? No, I don't think so.

The Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball program is one of the best in the country. The Jayhawks are one of the most successful and prestigious programs in the history of college basketball.
That might be because the Jayhawks' first coach, James Naismith, was the inventor of Basketball!
The location, the fans and the game are amazing! We had so much fun before, at and after the game!
I love the spirit, excitement and support that every person in the Allen Fieldhouse and on the James Naismith Court presents.
It was a special birthday for Nick - and for me.
Thank you Dan and Nancy, it was incredible!

Twin City

Nick and I were in Minneapolis, Minnesota last weekend. We were supposed to go Wednesday night, but the SnowNami stopped all our plans. It was the most disappointing moment in the last few weeks. We were waiting for the bus. And we was waiting and waiting and waiting, but no bus showed up. Finally we found a paper that said "No buses today".

SnowNami in Topeka (Thank you Dan for the picture)

Anyway, we tried it again on Thursday night. The bus was 71 minutes late and it was full! But the bus was there and we could go on it. Only two spots were left and Nick und I had real luck to get on it. I feel soo sorry for the two guys who tried to get on the bus after us! I really hope they found a way to get to where-ever-they-wanted-to-go.

After 13 hours bus driving and just a few hours of sleep we got finally to Minneapolis, Minnesota where Mark and Tom was already waiting for us.

The first thing we did was a drive through the city to get a main idea about the beautyness of the Twin City. It is an amazing City with a lot of stuff going on. It was so good to be back in the city!

After that we have been with Naomi and Daya at the MALL OF AMERICA (größtes Einkaufszentrum der Erde, 520 Geschäfte, ein Vergnügungspark und ein Aquarium).
It was Amazing! Typisch amerikanisch, viel zu groß, viel zu übertrieben.
Can you see Nick and Daya?

The next day we have been again at the MALL OF AMERICA and after that we visited the Walker Art Center. When you see the website, you will know that it is the right place to stay for me.

They had art indoor as well as outdoor.

We also saw the famous Spoonbridge and Cherry. I love that Walker Art Center! It is not to big to get lost, but still big and important engought to have international artists with great paintings, Sculptures and everything else.

At the evening I got a great awesome delicious yummy breathtaking Döner! Finally!

!yummyummyummyummyummyummyummyummy!
Late in the night we have been also in the movie theater. We saw Justin Bieber and Sanctum - ich empfehle Sanctum für oft-ins-Kino-geher! You dont know who Justin Bieber is? Let me show you! You ask me why they make a movie about him?

In our last night in Minneapolis Mark maked a great party for Nick and me. We had a bunch of people over and we got great food. Because:
!!

That was an amazing weekend! That was an amazing time. Thank you very very much Mark, Naomi, Daya!! It was soo much fun with you and we love your City. I am looking forword to came back and see more - in the warm summer. THANK YOU!

I love the big city.
I need the big City!
