Chic-a-go!

“My first day in Chicago, June 10, 2011. I set foot in this city, and just walking down the street, it was like roots, like the motherland. I knew I belonged here.”

Moritz, Daisung, Ariana and I went for a weekend to Chicago - the city of Al Capone, Daniel H. Burnham, Chicago-style pizza, and Obama.

Chinatown, Chiacago!

“I adore Chicago. It is the pulse of America.”

Chicago is like a dragon - big, wild, frightening and deathly.
But after you spend some time with the dragon you can see that there is nothing to be scared of ... well, nearly nothing.

Thank you awesome tourguid.

"Chicago ain't no sissy town."
Chicago is perhaps the most typically American place in America.

I love big cities, but I love especially Chicago.
The Great City - gigantic, willful, young and proud.

Visiting Moritz in St. Louis

My high school days are over - time to travel!

I visited Moritz in St. Louis and did a lot of fun stuff with him.

Fox Theater in St. Louis

In the City Museum.

The City Museum is a big fun place with slides, things to climp on and to jump of from.

It's just a big fun park.

And because it's a 10 floor high building you get a great view over St. Louis.

St. Louis Arch

And there I am in front of the Arch.

(No pictures from Moritz and me? Don't ask me...)

Thank you Moritz for hosting me one week.

See you later Nick and Leticia

The school year is over, and that means that some of my friends are going back to their countries.
Time went by so fast and I can't believe that 10 month are over already.
We hosted a good-bye dinner for Nick and his parents, who arrived from Norway to accompany him home (after stops in Florida, DC and New York).

Real parents, host parents, friends and adoptive host parents posed for this group photo.

And Leticia left to Panama.

You're missed already.
I am happy about every single memory, every picture and every story.
I am happy to call you my friends.

=)

Volleyball + Mexican Restaurant

Nick is leaving on sunday morning. First he goes with his parents to Miami, Washington D.C. and New York, and then finally back to Norway - I miss him already.

But, the good thing is: We have to have as much fun as we can in the last few days we have with him.
So, here we go:

Nick and his Birthday Ice-Creme + Birthday Head.

You gotta Nick.
You'll be missed.

Do you still wonder why I couldn't find any time to blog about my adventures?

My first tornado experience

A few people wrote me E-Mails or called me up to ask  if I had any 'adventures' with Tornados yet.
We had the first serious Tornado warning in Topeka. The weather went crazy and it was quite impressive to see what mother nature can do.

Golfball hail.

I had quit a fun time with Nick and Juri in Nicks Basement - well, first we had dinner and enjoyed to observe the weather.

You gotta Kansas.
